Before you register it is important that your read and approve to the rules of the Forums.
In order to post, you must register.
The ECC Forums makes demands on both quality and reading value. Threads missing this will be deleted or locked. The forum must also not be used to initiate or conduct harassment of non-public persons.
Entries and signatures that are not in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish may be deleted without warning.
Netiquette
Anyone who violates the forum’s netiquette risks a warning, and in particularly serious cases may be banned from the forum.
You are only permitted one account per person
Changing Username is not permitted.
Selling your account is nor permitted.
Heading
A headline must be factual and neutral and give a fair and descriptive picture of what the thread is about. If the starting entry is mainly a question, the title must end with a question mark.
Thread start and forum selection
Be sure to post your post in the correct subforum. Your post must be related to the topic that the forum is about. Do not start a new thread if there is already a suitable thread. A thread starter must be self-explanatory and not force the reader to retrieve information from external sources.
Trams and off-topic
Posts that are off-topic or nonsense can be deleted without warning and justification.
Cross posting
Cross-posting, i.e. posting similar posts in several different threads or creating similar threads in several forums, is prohibited.
Avatar and signature
If your avatar has a motif that can be perceived as inappropriate in a workplace, the option ‘My avatar is inappropriate’ must be ticked under the forum settings. The content of the avatar or signature must not violate the forum rules.
Moderator actions
Moderator actions should not be commented on in the thread. For questions and comments, the relevant moderator should be contacted via PM.
The spoiler feature
When posting information that may be sensitive to other users, such as how series or movies end, the spoiler function should be used.
False rumor spreading
Spreading fabricated information about persons, companies or organizations with the intention of exposing them to others’ disrespect, or intentionally spreading distorted or fabricated information with the intention of misleading, is prohibited.
Personal data
Be careful with personal data. Make a balanced assessment where the individual’s interest in a protected private sphere is weighed against fundamental rights such as freedom of information and expression.
Tags
Only serious, fair and neutral tags are accepted.
Unlawful use of identity
It is not allowed to create or provide accounts with other people’s identity information for the purpose of sabotaging or harassing, or falsely pretending to be an admin or moderator.
Rules
Anyone who violates any of the rules risks a suspension or permanent ban.
A breaking of the rules will first give you a suspension for one year. For the second rule breaking will will permanent ban you.
Users who commit particularly serious violations may be banned permanent without prior suspension. .
Copyrighted material
Dissemination or publication of copyrighted material without the author’s permission is prohibited.
Advertising and advertising
Private or commercial ads, such as buy, sell or barter ads, posts containing advertising or posts with other content from which the user earns money or other benefits, are prohibited.
Incitement against ethnic group
It is forbidden to threaten or express disrespect towards particularly vulnerable groups, with allusions to race, skin colour, national or ethnic origin, creed or sexual orientation.
Incitement and threats
Incitement and more serious threats are prohibited. It is also prohibited to organize criminal activities from the forum.
Child pornography
It is forbidden to request or distribute links to pornographic images or videos with persons under 18 years of age.
Anonymity of users
Searching for, posting, or threatening to post, personal data or other information that can reveal another user’s identity on the forum (via posts or in PMs) is prohibited, with the exception of such information that the user himself has published in the forum. Linking users’ alternate accounts or accounts on other forums or websites is prohibited.
Alternative accounts
Abuse of alternative accounts is prohibited. In case of suspension, it is only allowed to use the forum to discuss your suspension with a moderator or admin.
Personal attacks
Gross personal attacks, harassment, threats or veiled threats directed at other users are prohibited.
Drug trafficking
All forms of drug dealing (bought, sold, exchanged, gifted), also via PM, are prohibited.
Spread of computer viruses and other malicious code
Spreading links to computer viruses or other malicious code is prohibited unless it is made clear that the links are harmful.
Privacy-sensitive information
It is prohibited to post certain privacy-sensitive and confidential information, the dissemination of which lacks a considerable public interest.
Disobedience
Repeated warnings that are not heeded will result in suspension.
Quality over quantity
Members who oppose the free debate in the forum, by systematically publishing posts of too low quality or insufficient debate basis, will be suspended or banned.
User name
Usernames deemed to be confusing with any other member, moderator or admin are prohibited.
